TEHRAN – A number of prominent commandos from the Iranian Army and IRGC are in Russia to participate in the upcoming International Army Games 2016.

The annual event is scheduled to be held on August 1-14, Tasnim reported on Wednesday.

The commandos who consist of seven military teams will compete in various categories, including Sniper Frontier, Tank Biathlon, Suvorov Attack, Elbrus Ring, Airborne Platoon, Seaborne Assault, and Depth. 

Military representatives from 17 countries, including Iran, Russia, China, Egypt, Venezuela, Belarus, and Kazakhstan will take part in the contest in southwestern Russia.
